Iran’s military threatened "crushing and destructive attacks" on the US after President Trump declared "Operation Epic Fury" an "overwhelming victory" and vowed continued bombardment, escalating geopolitical tensions and driving fuel prices above $4 a gallon.
President Trump claimed Tehran's military assets were obliterated and most of its leadership wiped out, asserting Iran was "no longer a threat." However, Iran's operational command, Khatam Al-Anbiya, immediately issued a defiant response, stating the war would continue until US humiliation and surrender, promising "more crushing, broader and more destructive actions." Despite his victory claims, Trump warned bombardment would persist for two to three weeks, threatening to destroy Iran's electricity plants without a ceasefire. The President attempted to justify the operation as an "investment" for future generations, amidst poor polling and skepticism from allies like Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, who defended NATO after Trump considered withdrawal.
The conflict has already pushed gas prices above $4 a gallon, marking a significant economic impact.
