Iran's Parliament Speaker Mohammad-Bagher Ghalibaf publicly denied former US President Donald Trump's claims of productive, high-level US-Iran negotiations, asserting that such reports are a manipulation tactic designed to influence financial and oil markets amidst escalating regional tensions.
Trump previously stated these "lengthy, fruitful, and optimistic" talks with an unnamed high-ranking individual led him to postpone planned attacks on Iranian energy infrastructure. Ghalibaf, a prominent figure with extensive military and political experience, including serving as a Major General in the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and former Tehran Mayor from 2005 to 2017, firmly refuted any involvement.
He emphasized the Iranian population's demand for accountability from aggressors. This denial, reported by The Sunday Guardian, comes as US-Iran tensions remain high following recent attacks and retaliations, particularly concerning the Strait of Hormuz, which significantly impacts global energy markets.
