SLB and Nvidia have significantly expanded their collaboration to design and deploy advanced AI infrastructure and generative AI models specifically for the energy industry, aiming to transform vast amounts of operational data into actionable insights for energy companies.
This strategic partnership builds upon a relationship initiated in 2008, when SLB first leveraged Nvidia computing for subsurface visualization and seismic imaging. In 2024, the companies announced plans to develop generative AI solutions for the energy sector, which this expansion now formalizes.
The current initiative will establish a reference environment powered by generative AI models and agentic AI, running on SLB's digital platforms to enhance data utilization and operational efficiency. Furthermore, SLB will serve as the modular design partner for Nvidia's DSX data centers, a move expected to reduce costs, mitigate labor constraints, and shorten lead times for expanding data center capacity within the energy sector, as reported by Dow Jones.
