Data Center Logistics · DHL Supply Chain · Hyperscale · North America Expansion
DHL Supply Chain announced a significant expansion of its North America data center logistics infrastructure, adding 10 dedicated warehouse sites totaling over seven million square feet of capacity, set to go live in 2026, specifically designed for hyperscale and colocation data center operators.
These new facilities will offer white-glove handling, rack configuration services, and specialized warehouse-to-site transportation. The expansion addresses the growing global demand for data center capacity, particularly in North America, which hosts over 40% of the world's data centers.
Services like pre-configuration move critical integration out of construction zones, reducing on-site complexity and installation delays. An independently commissioned survey of data center decision-makers revealed that 85% prefer a single end-to-end logistics partner, yet only 43% currently have one, and 89% rated a single account manager as "very important." DHL's strategy integrates with its Global Forwarding network, providing multimodal transport, customs expertise, and heavy-lift capabilities for high-value IT hardware.
Hendrik Venter, Global CEO of DHL Supply Chain, and Oscar de Bok, Global CEO of DHL Global Forwarding, Freight, emphasized the importance of synchronized, secure, and time-critical execution for the AI era's demanding global supply chains.
