Reflection AI, a U.S.-based AI startup backed by Nvidia, is reportedly in talks to raise $2.5 billion in new funding, which could propel its valuation to $25 billion, according to The Wall Street Journal.
This development highlights robust demand for AI, particularly in developer-focused tools, and signals continued significant investment in the sector. Founded in 2024 by former Google DeepMind researchers, Reflection AI develops AI tools to help developers write and improve code faster, aiming to compete with global players, including China's AI capabilities.
Nvidia has already invested $800 million in Reflection AI, valuing it at $8 billion in a previous round, and is actively helping the startup grow by introducing it to potential customers. JPMorgan Chase, through its security-focused investment arm, is in talks to join the funding round, with existing investor Disruptive also expected to participate.
Reflection AI has committed billions of dollars to build Korean-language AI models with South Korea’s Shinsegae Group, powered by Nvidia chips, and plans to expand similar partnerships globally to establish a "sovereign AI" platform for U.S. allies.
