Attacks attributed to Iran, including drone strikes on energy facilities in Saudi Arabia and Qatar, have escalated the Middle East conflict's impact on the energy sector.

Qatar has responded by halting production of liquefied natural gas (LNG) following the interception of two Iranian drones targeting a facility in Ras Laffan Industrial City, a significant LNG export hub. The situation has also led to a virtual cessation of tanker traffic through the Strait of Hormuz, a vital chokepoint for global oil transit, handling approximately one-fifth of the world's oil supply.

These disruptions raise concerns about potential interruptions to global energy supplies and broader economic consequences.
