This shift follows Trump's previous accusations of deceit against Pakistan and comes amid heightened Middle East tensions and a recent India-Pakistan military confrontation, where the US mediated a ceasefire. Experts like Marvin Weinbaum of MEI caution that this "mercurial and personalized" engagement reflects Trump's individual approach rather than traditional US foreign policy, while Raza Ahmad Rumi of CUNY views it as Pakistan entering Washington's "inner circle."
