UK self-driving startup Wayve has secured $1.2 billion in a Series D funding round, with participation from major automakers like Mercedes-Benz, Stellantis, and Nissan, alongside tech giants Nvidia and Microsoft.

This round, which also includes additional milestone-based investments from Uber, brings the total funding to $1.5 billion and boosts the company's valuation to $8.6 billion. Wayve plans to use the capital to scale its robotaxi deployments, starting with Uber in London in 2026 and expanding to 10 global cities.

The company is also deepening partnerships with automakers for driver-assistance technology, with Nissan targeting a launch in its FY2027. Wayve retains significant capital from its 2024 funding round led by Softbank Group and maintains an IPO as a long-term goal.
