Nvidia has entered into a multiyear strategic agreement with Lumentum Holdings Inc., involving a multibillion-dollar purchase commitment and future capacity access rights for advanced laser components.

As part of this deal, Nvidia is investing $2 billion in Lumentum to bolster research and development, enhance future capacity, and support operations, including the construction of a new U.S.-based manufacturing facility. This collaboration aims to accelerate advanced optics technologies crucial for AI infrastructure, focusing on optical interconnect technology and package integration for AI data centers.

The announcement follows Lumentum's strong second-quarter fiscal year 2026 financial results, which surpassed analyst expectations for both earnings per share and revenue, leading to positive revisions in analyst price targets and an upgrade from Neutral to Buy by B. Riley.
