Grand Theft Auto VI developer Rockstar Games announced that pre-orders for the highly anticipated title will commence on June 25, preceding its scheduled release on November 19 for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, a move expected to significantly boost publisher Take-Two Interactive's future revenue.
The game, a successor to Grand Theft Auto V, which launched in 2013 and remains the second best-selling video game of all time, has faced two prior delays, initially targeting autumn 2025 and then May 2026 before solidifying the November 2026 launch. Rockstar Games also unveiled the official cover art, showcasing protagonists Jason and Lucia and the fictional state of Leonida, inspired by Florida, featuring imagery such as alligators, flamingos, helicopters, motorcycles, and sports cars in the franchise's signature pop-art style.
While Rockstar Games did not disclose pricing details, industry speculation continues that GTA 6 could set a new benchmark for premium game pricing, with some analysts previously suggesting it could become the first major release to carry a $100 price tag. The intense interest surrounding the game's launch is underscored by the two trailers released in 2023 and 2025, which have accumulated a combined 446 million views.
