24/7 Trading · Blockchain · NYSE · Tokenization
The New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) and Securitize are developing a blockchain-based Digital Trading Platform for tokenized securities, aiming to provide 24-hour trading and instant settlement, a move projected to fundamentally reshape traditional financial markets.
This new platform will issue and manage shares and Exchange-Traded Fund (ETF) interests in token form, with all trading and settlement processed on a blockchain. Securitize will serve as the NYSE’s inaugural digital transfer agent, responsible for issuing and managing these blockchain-based tokens.
The partnership also includes jointly establishing regulatory-compliant standards for token issuance and management. The platform is designed to enable the use of stablecoins as trading funds.
Carlos Domingo, co-founder and CEO of Securitize, stated that this project focuses on 'native tokenization' rather than derivatives or price-tracking products. The market recognizes asset tokenization, with major exchanges like NYSE and Nasdaq building similar infrastructure, as a significant force in restructuring traditional financial markets.
