Equinix and the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPPIB) are reportedly nearing a $4 billion deal to acquire atNorth, a Nordic data-center operator.
The acquisition, which may be announced soon, underscores the increasing investor demand for digital infrastructure, particularly for AI and cloud computing needs. atNorth operates data centers across Iceland, Denmark, Sweden, and Finland, serving hyperscale cloud, AI, and high-performance computing clients.
The company was previously acquired by Partners Group in 2022. This deal highlights the strategic expansion of Equinix and the growing interest of pension funds in data-center assets.
