Beiersdorf, the maker of Nivea, has lowered its sales forecast for 2025 for the second time, citing a slowdown in the skincare market, particularly in emerging markets.

The company now expects organic sales growth of around 2.5%, down from a previous target of approximately 3%. The consumer segment is projected to grow by about 2.5%, a reduction from the earlier 3%-4% target.

This revision comes as Beiersdorf's shares have fallen nearly a quarter year-to-date, reflecting broader struggles in the consumer goods sector due to fragile consumer confidence and import tariff pressures. In the third quarter of 2025, group sales reached 2.35 billion euros, a 1.7% organic increase year-on-year.

While the flagship Nivea brand saw a 0.4% organic sales decline, the derma category experienced a significant 12.4% organic sales rise. The company maintained its group EBIT margin target above the previous year's 13.9%.
