SpaceX secured a significant computing power agreement with open-source AI startup Reflection AI, totaling up to $6.3 billion, providing Reflection AI immediate access to top-tier Nvidia GB300s at SpaceX's Colossus infrastructure, marking a new revenue stream.
Reflection AI will pay SpaceX $150 million per month beginning July 1, 2026, through 2029, according to materials viewed by CNBC. This deal highlights SpaceX's strategy to monetize its extensive data center build-out, Colossus, which was initially developed to power Elon Musk's Grok AI chatbot.
SpaceX is now actively selling excess computing capacity to external AI companies, diversifying its revenue streams beyond its core space and satellite internet businesses. The agreement includes a 90-day termination clause for either party after the initial three months, indicating a degree of flexibility for both companies.
