OpenAI CEO Sam Altman's San Francisco home was attacked with a Molotov cocktail by a 20-year-old man, who was subsequently arrested, with no injuries reported at the residence, though threats were also made at the company's headquarters.
San Francisco police responded to a fire investigation at 4:12 a.m. Friday, discovering an "incendiary destructive device" caused a fire at the gate before the suspect fled.
Police detained the suspect at 5:07 a.m. after he threatened to burn down a business on 3rd Street, identifying him as the individual from the earlier incident.
A company spokesperson confirmed the attack and threats, stating, "Thankfully, no one was hurt," and expressed appreciation for the San Francisco Police Department's swift response. Police have not publicly identified the man taken into custody pending criminal charges.
