Banijay Group and RedBird IMI's All3Media are merging their entertainment production businesses, forming one of the world's largest independent multimedia groups.
This strategic consolidation aims to achieve pro-forma 2024 revenues exceeding €4.4 billion and adjusted EBITDA of €690 million. The rationale behind the merger is to leverage scale, which Banijay CEO François Riahi emphasized as crucial in the consolidating streaming market and for the exploitation of intellectual property, especially with the rise of AI.
The combined entity, retaining the Banijay name, will be led by Marco Bassetti as CEO, with RedBird IMI rolling over its entire stake to hold 50% ownership alongside Banijay. The transaction includes a €796 million cash upstream for Banijay and anticipates approximately €50 million in cost synergies within 12 months post-closing.
With a vast library of globally recognized titles like "Peaky Blinders," "Big Brother," "The Traitors," and "MasterChef," the merger strengthens Banijay's position as a leading content provider for global streaming platforms. The deal is expected to close by fall 2026.
