Grab Holdings Ltd.
acquired China-based AI robotics startup Infermove to accelerate autonomous food delivery development, with Infermove previously valued at US$33 million in 2024, though specific acquisition terms were not disclosed by either company. The Singapore-based super app, Grab, stated the acquisition supports its strategy to enhance first- and last-mile delivery capabilities by integrating Infermove's mixed-road autonomous vehicle systems and robotics hardware.
Grab's teams will explore using Infermove’s autonomous robots to improve the experience of both customers and delivery partners, particularly in food delivery services, as quoted by Reuters on Tuesday, January 6, 2026. Infermove, founded in Beijing in 2021 by Aaron (Yingxiang) Lu and Yuhan Long, specializes in a range of autonomous robotics hardware products, including a smart driving armchair, an automated fish-feeding device, armless delivery robots, and single-arm delivery robots.
Prior to the acquisition, Infermove had raised early-stage funding of approximately US$300,000 (Rp5 billion) from several investors, including MiraclePlus. In 2024, the startup also entered into an agreement with a subsidiary of Tieda Technology that valued the company at around US$33 million (Rp554 billion).
