Leading AI developers OpenAI and Anthropic are strategically partnering with major consulting firms to accelerate their penetration into the lucrative enterprise market.
OpenAI has announced multi-year collaborations with McKinsey, BCG, Accenture, and Capgemini, aiming to deploy its enterprise tools more broadly. Similarly, Anthropic has teamed up with Accenture and Deloitte, including a program to train 15,000 Deloitte staffers on its Claude model for client solutions in regulated industries.
These moves highlight the AI labs' urgency to demonstrate revenue growth and establish enterprise as a core strategy, especially against tech giants like Microsoft and Google. Concurrently, consulting firms are adapting their business models, with AI-related work becoming a significant portion of their services.
McKinsey reports approximately 40% of its work is now analytics- or AI-related, while BCG notes nearly 90% of its 33,000 employees use AI, with a five-fold increase in custom GPT builders. Despite the rapid adoption, industry experts caution that AI tools still require further development for full enterprise-grade applicability and robust guardrails, indicating an ongoing evolution in integration and deployment.
