Volkswagen Group has reached a significant milestone, delivering 4 million all-electric vehicles since launching its first model in 2013.
This achievement highlights a dramatic acceleration in its electrification strategy, with the most recent million units delivered in a single year, a stark contrast to the decade it took to reach the first million. CEO Oliver Blume emphasized this rapid growth, underscoring the company's commitment to EVs.
Geographically, Europe remains the primary market, accounting for over two-thirds of these deliveries, followed by China at 20% and the U.S. at 8%. The compact class, including popular models like the VW ID.3, ID.4, Skoda Enyaq, and Audi Q4 e-tron, constitutes approximately 70% of total EV deliveries.
Volkswagen's aggressive product pipeline supports this trend, with around 60 new models launched in the past two years (one-third electric) and over 20 new models planned for this year, half of which will be all-electric, targeting new offerings for China and a European urban car family. The group's portfolio now includes over 30 all-electric passenger vehicles and electric trucks/buses from its commercial brands.
