U.S. manufacturing activity remained in expansionary territory in February, with the ISM Manufacturing PMI at 52.4, a slight decrease from January's 52.6.

While the overall index suggests continued growth, many firms are reporting increased procurement costs attributed to President Trump's tariffs. These tariffs are forcing manufacturers to source materials domestically at higher prices, impacting profitability and demand.

The prices index surged significantly to 70.5, the highest in over three years. New orders and production sub-indexes saw a pullback after strong gains in January.

Sentiment remains cautious, with more negative comments than positive ones. The employment index remains below the neutral 50 level, indicating ongoing staff reductions due to uncertain demand.
