Key Takeaway

This acquisition means Skyhorse Publishing solidifies its dominant position in the conservative publishing niche, creating a powerful platform for authors often shunned by mainstream houses. This strategy means increased market share for Skyhorse in a segment with a dedicated readership, but also means potential exposure to the legal and reputational risks associated with politically charged content and controversial authors. For investors, this indicates a clear, aggressive growth strategy by Skyhorse, focusing on a specific, underserved market segment.

Skyhorse Publishing acquired the assets of All Seasons Press, a Florida-based conservative publishing house, making it an imprint and significantly expanding Skyhorse's presence in the conservative book market.

This acquisition follows Skyhorse's December 28 deal to acquire Regnery, another prominent conservative publisher with approximately 1,550 titles, which also became a Skyhorse imprint. All Seasons Press, launched in June 2021 by publishing veterans Louise Burke and Kate Hartson, aimed to counter "cancel culture" and support its authors.

The press published books by notable conservative figures such as Chadwick Moore, Peter Navarro, and James Golden. All Seasons Press faced two high-profile lawsuits: one dismissed suit involving author Lee Smith regarding funding by majority shareholder Scott Bessent, and an ongoing suit against former Trump chief of staff Mark Meadows for alleged false statements in his memoir.

Skyhorse plans to relaunch Chadwick Moore's "Tucker" and issue updated editions of other titles, including Navarro's book, despite Navarro's recent conviction and prison sentence.
