Red Lobster, a restaurant chain that filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in 2024, is reintroducing its popular "Endless Shrimp" promotion as a limited-time offer starting April 20, 2026, a strategic shift from its previous permanent status which contributed to significant financial losses.
The previous iteration of "Endless Shrimp" as a permanent menu item in 2023 led to approximately $11 million in quarterly losses for Red Lobster, as reported by Fox Business, ultimately contributing to its bankruptcy filing. CEO Damola Adamolekun stated the promotion returns "in a way that works for our business today," emphasizing the limited-time nature to manage costs.
This move aims to attract customers, as the promotion has a strong legacy spanning 20 years, while mitigating the financial risks that plagued the company previously. Bloomberg also cited long-term leases and leadership changes as contributing factors to the company's financial distress.
The current promotion includes new options like Marry Me Shrimp, alongside classics.
