Recently-axed JPMorgan Chase executive director Angie Baez returned a stolen Knicks-themed city trash can after a viral video showed her dumping its contents and absconding with it, resulting in $175 in fines for littering and impeding sanitation operations.
Baez, 40, was identified by sources as the individual who stole the orange and blue receptacle following the Knicks' NBA title victory against the San Antonio Spurs. The high-profile incident, captured on video and widely shared on X, depicted Baez in Knicks gear emptying the trash onto Broadway and later transporting the bin on the subway.
JPMorgan Chase confirmed this week that Baez, who served as executive director of community and industry engagement, "is no longer with the company." The Department of Sanitation confirmed the basket's return to its Worth Street Headquarters, stating they removed two stickers before photographing it. Baez received a $75 fine for littering and a $100 fine for impeding Department of Sanitation operations, the maximum allowed by law, according to spokesman Vincent Gragnani.
