European authorities are investigating suspected Iranian involvement in a series of attacks targeting Jewish sites across Europe, leading to two arrests in London following an arson attack on Hatzolah ambulances in Golders Green.
Officials cited by The Wall Street Journal report Iranian agents recruit individuals online and create front organizations, such as the "Islamic Movement of the Righteous Companions," to claim responsibility for assaults on Jewish schools, synagogues, and Israel-linked businesses. European intelligence officials confirm this group was previously unknown to them before this month.
In the United Kingdom, two men, aged 47 and 45, were arrested in connection with the Golders Green arson, which involved three hooded individuals pouring accelerant on Hatzolah vehicles, causing explosions and prompting evacuations near a synagogue. Metropolitan Police Commander Helen Flanagan stated the arrests mark an important breakthrough, though additional suspects may be involved, and the incident is currently treated as an antisemitic hate crime.
Israel’s National Security Council warns of increased terrorism threats against Israelis abroad due to the ongoing war with Iran, urging heightened precautions for holiday gatherings and Jewish community locations.
