GoPro's Board of Directors approved a restructuring plan on April 7, involving a global reduction of approximately 145 employees, representing 23% of its 631-employee first-quarter headcount, to reduce operating costs and enhance operating leverage.
The reduction in force is scheduled for the second quarter of 2026 and is expected to be substantially completed by the end of 2026. This restructuring plan will incur an estimated aggregate charge between $11.5 million and $15 million.
Cash expenditures for these charges are projected to be approximately $1.5 million in the second quarter of 2026, $5.5 million to $8 million in the third quarter of 2026, and $4.5 million to $5.5 million in the fourth quarter of 2026. These expenditures primarily cover one-time termination benefits, including severance payments and healthcare benefits, for the affected employees.
The company aims to achieve stronger operating leverage through these cost-cutting measures.
