Chrysler issued a recall for 1,076,999 Jeep Wranglers and Gladiators from model years 2021-2025 due to a wiring problem in the electric-hydraulic power steering pump that causes overheating and fire risk, even when parked, with owners advised to park vehicles outside until repairs are completed.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) confirmed the recall, stating the wiring issue can lead to vehicle fires. Dealers will inspect and replace affected parts at no cost to owners.
Chrysler will notify owners by mail after July 9, and owners can contact Chrysler directly at 800-853-1403, referencing internal recall number 21D. Vehicle identification numbers are searchable on the NHTSA website starting June 11.
This widespread recall impacts a significant portion of recent Jeep production.
